Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-in Hybrid

Mitsubishi Outlander is going to bring a 4WD Plug-in Hybrid variant to Lujack Kia Mazda Mitsubishi soon. Why is this such a big deal? Because it's the world's first mass produce 4WD Plug-in Hybrid.

Outlander's unique drivetrain combines its front and rear electric motors. Engine options include Mitsubishi's standard 2.0-liter, producing 147-hp and 144 lb-ft of torque. There might also be a 2.2-liter Clean Diesel coming from the Japanese auto maker, producing 147-hp and 280 lb-ft of torque with a manual, 265 lb-ft of torque with automatic.

The Outlander Plug-in will reach a 31 mile electric range to regenerative P-HEV system. Drivers can also control battery use while traveling.

Mitsubishi unveiled the car at 2012's Geneva Motor Show, and launched a new age in automotive tech. They've proven a vehicle can produce high miles per gallon results, while still being able to attack any terrain.
