Motivated both by fiscal- and eco-conscious-acumen, the number of all-electric vehicles we see on the roads in the Davenport area and beyond is constantly on the rise. And, with the increase, comes the necessity to provide education and information about the EV-specific hardware and systems found in the autos, in case there is ever the need to help someone trapped inside.

Enter the NFPA. In case you don't recognize the acronym, the National Fire Protection Association is a nonprofit organization that has tirelessly worked for over a century to find ways to reduce fires and other hazards by providing research, training and education. Deemed the world's leading advocate of fire prevention, the honorable organization has established, published and circulated more than 300 codes and standards aimed to minimize the likelihood and effects of fire and other risks.

And, now, the NFPA is including in its research, development of techniques to properly educate rescue and fire workers on the ways to help someone in the event they're stuck inside an EV. What's more, our favorite brand, Mitsubishi, is also lending a helping hand. Not only is the automaker providing key technical support to the organization, but it is also donating one of its innovative Mitsubishi i EVs to the cause.
